This January, we’re taking a small crew to Hokkaido for a full week of JAPOW — based in Furano, with six days of riding across three very different mountains.

✈️ Arrival — January 15

Meet at New Chitose Airport (CTS) on January 15. From there, we’ll load up and head directly to Furano together in private transportation.

🏔️ Four Days in Furano

Furano will be our home mountain, with four days to explore its famous dry powder, tree runs, and gate-access terrain.

We’ll have local powder guides joining us for part of the trip to help us find the best terrain and snow.

❄️ A Day at Tomamu

We’ll switch things up with a day at Hoshino Resorts Tomamu — a completely different mountain and resort experience, with its own powder terrain and tree riding.

🌋 Asahidake Volcano Powder Day

One of the highlights of the trip: a guided day at Mt. Asahidake, Hokkaido’s highest mountain.

We’ll take the Asahidake Ropeway into volcanic alpine terrain, riding alongside the mountain’s active fumaroles and experiencing a much wilder side of Hokkaido snowboarding.

Professional guiding and avalanche safety equipment will be provided for this day.

Our mountain schedule may change depending on snowfall, wind, visibility, avalanche conditions, and lift/ropeway operations. We’ll go where the conditions make the most sense.

🏠 7 Nights in Downtown Furano

We’ll all be staying together in a private 4-bedroom house in downtown Furano — close to local restaurants, izakayas, yakiniku, convenience stores, and everyday Japanese life.

🚐 Private Transportation Included

• Private transfer from CTS → Furano on Jan 15
• Private transfer from Furano → CTS on Jan 22
• Transportation for our guided riding days
• Tomamu transportation
• Asahidake transportation

🍜 Breakfast + Dinner Included

We want the food to be part of the trip too.

Breakfast is included each day, and we’ll spend our evenings exploring Furano’s local food scene — izakayas, yakiniku, Hokkaido specialties, and Japanese comfort food.

🎫 Ikon Pass Required

The $3,499 trip price assumes you already have an eligible Ikon Pass, which we’ll use for our Furano riding days.

The Ikon Pass itself is not included.

🛡️ Travel Insurance Required

All participants must purchase World Nomads Explorer Travel Insurance or equivalent coverage that covers the planned ski/snowboard activities, including backcountry snowboarding, emergency medical treatment, and emergency evacuation/repatriation in Japan.

Each participant is responsible for confirming that their individual policy covers all planned activities, including our guided Asahidake day.

On January 22, we’ll check out in Furano and travel together by private transportation back to New Chitose Airport (CTS) for departure.

This isn’t meant to be a huge organized tour. We’re keeping it to just 7 guests — a small crew spending a week chasing Hokkaido powder, riding three very different mountains, eating great Japanese food, and experiencing a side of Japan that feels very different from the typical Niseko trip.
